Claudi Casanovas at the Fitzrovia Chapel

11 - 23 July 2017

Erskine, Hall & Coe is delighted to present Quart Minvant (Waning Crescent), our third solo exhibition of work by acclaimed Catalan artist, Claudi Casanovas.  We are holding this exhibition within the historic Fitzrovia Chapel in Pearson Square through the 23rd of July, and it is viewable daily from 11am - 4pm.

Quart Minvant consists of six new stoneware sculptures and is the final instalment in a body of work by Casanovas, 'The Lunar Cycle,' which began with Lluna Nova in 2013 and included Quart Creixent in 2014.

"I am exploring the notion of emptiness.  I am seeking to participate within emptiness.  The pieces, which contain the form of an arch, refer to a metaphorical journey, a moment in balance, which ultimately alludes to life: life in its final evanescence and its promise of completeness." (Claudi Casanovas, 2017)

We invite our visitors to explore Casanovas's earlier chapters of this 'Lunar Cycle' series, Lluna Nova and Quart Creixent at our gallery at 15 Royal Arcade.  These groups of work are on display in conjunction with our exhibition at the Fitzrovia Chapel.

To coincide with our exhibition, we are also presenting a new hardback monograph (332 pages): Claudi Casanovas Ceramics: 1975 - 2015.
