Gordon Baldwin - 2015 Solo Exhibition

8 July - 5 August 2015

Erskine, Hall & Coe is pleased to present a solo show of Gordon Baldwin's sculptural ceramics.  The exhibition features 25 works dating back to the early 1970s, all drawn from the collection of Mike O'Connor, who was a close friend of Baldwin.

Born in Lincoln, England in 1932, Baldwin studied painting and pottery at the Lincoln School of Art and then at the Central School of Art and Design in London. He became a teacher of ceramics and sculpture at Eton College and has since become one of the world’s most distinguished ceramic artists.  Baldwin is recognised for the rich variety of forms he builds which combine sculptural silhouettes with abstract painterly marks. He has been very influential in moving ceramics towards sculpted structures and away from traditional functional pots.

Our exhibition has been extended to the 5th of August, and is fully illustrated online and in a catalogue.
