This is an outstanding example of Coper's spherical forms. It was featured in the exhibition, Hans Coper - Lucie Rie at Galerie Besson in 2006.

Coper built his vessels by combining multiple wheel-thrown forms—such as fusing two bowls together at their rims. He used white and black slips to create textured surfaces that resembled the weathered appearance of excavated artefacts, reflecting his fascination with ancient objects.
